MARK J. COATES received the B.E. degree in computer systems engineering from the University of Adelaide, Adelaide, SA, Australia, in 1995, and the Ph.D. degree from the University of Cambridge, Cambridge, U.K., in 1999. In 2002, he joined McGill University, Montreal, QC, Canada, where he is currently a Professor with the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. He was a Research Associate and a Lecturer with Rice Uni-versity, Houston, TX, USA, from 1999 to 2001. From 2012 to 2013, he worked as a Senior Scientist with Winton Capital Management, Oxford, U.K. His research interests include statistical signal processing, communication and sensor networks, and Bayesian and Monte Carlo inference. He currently serves as Associate Editor for IEEE TRANSACTIONS ON SIGNAL AND INFORMATION PROCESSING OVER NETWORKS.
